We were children with big dreams and wild ideas. Always searching: for wonderland, for the enchanted forest, for the best hiding place in the world. A place where we could simply be ourselves.
Now we’re grown — but the wonder and the heartbeat have never left us. That one magical place? We’ve found it. Our little hideaway at the edge of the forest — where Mr. Fox and Madame Rabbit are best friends, saying goodnight to each other.
“Between strawberry, plum, and apple trees, you often find more peace than in the quietest room.”
Not just a clever wordplay, but a name that truly keeps its promise. Far from any bling-bling, close to the heart. The perfect blend of farmhouse charm and apartments in the Valle di Anterselva. Our philosophy? Something small, please!
That means: let’s celebrate the small* — the real, the imperfect. And above all: let’s not take life too seriously. It prefers to laugh along with us anyway.
*Because it’s always the little things that make life truly big.
Here at the forest’s edge, the Valle di Anterselva lies at your feet. The towering giants of the Rieserferner group and the Pragser and Olanger Dolomites greet you from afar.
Silent spruces stand like guardians, offering peace and strength. Just a few steps — and the Hoferbach gently whispers its stories. A little further up the path: an idyllic clearing. Here, Madame Rabbit often gazes into the clouds. Perfect for dreamers like you.
Admire the horses, listen to the gentle bells of the sheep, and take a deep breath in between. In summer, the animals enjoy the fresh air up on our Grente Alm; the rest of the year, they’re waiting for you back at the farm. Our two cats also call this place home: the orange one loves to listen to the birdsong, while the white one quietly stalks after the mice. Once a year, things get really exciting: it’s time for the big grain harvest — organic rye and spelt, truly grain from the heart.
Where flowers bloom and bees hum, Gerda is usually not far behind. With her green watering can in tow and a little magic in her hand, everything grows and thrives. From sweet strawberries to fragrant herbs — feel free to help yourself; snacking is encouraged. In the meadow, between apple and plum trees, there’s plenty of room for sun lovers, and a barbecue is ready for you. Christoph is happy to bring firewood and supplies right to your door. For the young (and the young at heart), there’s a garden house with a kitchen and workbench, a slide, two swings, a ping-pong table, a basketball hoop, and badminton rackets.
Mr. Fox knows the way. Madame Rabbit takes care of the finer details.
We’re a bit like the two of them: Sometimes quiet, sometimes wild, sometimes joyful, sometimes lost in thought – sometimes right in the middle of everything, and sometimes fully with you. We’re not perfect. But we’re real. And with us, everyone is welcome just the way you are.
That’s who we are: your hosts, the Pallhuber family…
… through Fabian’s eyes
As a dad and grandpa, he’s never really in standby mode – there’s always something that needs doing. One day the TV has a mind of its own, the next the heating needs a bit of sweet-talking. And wherever the toolbox is, Christoph is usually already in the middle of things.
Once the most urgent jobs are done, the screwdriver gets swapped for hiking boots – and off he goes with our guests to explore the Valle di Anterselva. With a wink and a backpack full of stories, every hike turns into a little adventure. As a true original from Anterselva, he knows every corner, every stone, and all the best spots. And no matter where he roams – his heart is always at home on the farm. And with the whole valley.
… through Lisa’s eyes
She’s like a gentle summer breeze – quiet, unobtrusive, yet always there when you need her. As a flower whisperer and worry chaser, she moves through the days on a secret mission. Wherever her little green watering can appears, she’s usually not far behind. With heartfelt care, she tends to every plant – and just as attentively, she senses when our guests might need a little extra kindness.
With a delicate touch and a sprinkle of Gerda magic, she brings it all back into balance. So don’t be surprised if she asks you – for the third time – if you’re really doing okay. That care? It comes straight from the heart.
… through Gerda’s eyes
When everything runs smoothly in the background, chances are Fabian is quietly pulling the strings. He prefers to stay behind the scenes rather than step into the spotlight. But once you strike up a conversation with him, it doesn’t take long to notice the depth of his insight, his curiosity, and his thoughtful way of seeing the world.
And when he’s not planning, thinking, or organizing, he follows the call of the mountains – where thoughts are free to roam. His favorite? Hochgall, the proud king of the Rieserferner group.
… through Christoph’s eyes
Her heart beats to the rhythm of new ideas – sometimes softly and delicately, sometimes bursting with energy and color. Wherever she goes, things come to life: thoughts take flight, projects take shape, and suddenly, there’s a fresh breeze sweeping through the farm. With her creativity, boundless energy, and eye for the extraordinary, she adds a touch of magic to everyday life. A magic that shows itself not just in colors and forms – but above all in how she brings people together, makes things possible, and sparks something new. Lisa isn’t just part of the farm – she shapes it. And you can feel that everywhere.
… through the eyes of Lisa & Fabian
She’s our little ray of sunshine – full of energy, curiosity, and joy for life. With her bright smile and cheerful nature, she zips around the farm, spreading happiness wherever she goes. If there’s something to discover, you can bet Emma’s already on her way – whether she’s admiring flowers, greeting guests, or just darting around with playful excitement. She’s already part of everything that happens here – in her own loving, delightful way. And when Emma laughs, the whole farm seems to laugh just a little with her.
… through the eyes of Gerda & Christoph
He may be the youngest, but his heart is already full of wonder. The words aren’t quite there yet – but that doesn’t stop him from expressing himself. With his big blue eyes and cheerful babbling, he brings a smile to everyone’s face. He listens especially closely when Grandpa Christoph starts telling stories – hanging on every word. Who knows, maybe he’s already collecting his favorite ones in secret, just waiting for the right moment to tumble out. And when that day comes – Grandpa better be ready for some lively conversations.
