Our farm lies right at the edge of the forest. Just step through the garden, past the animals’ feeding spot and out through the big wooden gate – and you’re already in the heart of the woods. And now? So many paths, so many possibilities.

His favorite spot for a refreshing break lies along the Hoferbach stream. To find it, follow the Franzosensteig trail — but don’t go left as the sign suggests. Instead, take the path to the right. Soon, you’ll hear the gentle murmur of the water. Time to slip off your shoes, dip your feet in, and let the cool mountain stream awaken your senses. Fresh energy, just the way Signore Fox likes it.
Cold feet? Not really her thing. Madame Rabbit much prefers lying back and watching the sky. Her favorite clearing lies just ten to fifteen minutes to the north, also along the Franzosensteig trail. Between the trees, the forest opens up to a quiet meadow — perfect for lying down, listening to the sounds of nature, and simply breathing it all in.
The walk to the village center takes about fifteen minutes on foot — or around twenty if you follow the scenic Franzosensteig trail. Once there, you’ll find a small grocery store, a cozy bar- the delightful St. Walburg pastry shop, a bike shop with rentals, and the bus stop — your gateway to even more adventures.
You can park your car free of charge right in front of our house. And with the Kronplatz Guest Pass, all public transportation throughout South Tyrol is free to use.
“A rabbit needs no compass. Where the grass grows softer and the wind whispers stories – that’s where I belong. My heart always knows the way to my favorite place.”
Coming via the A22 Brenner Motorway, take the Brixen/Pustertal exit and follow signs toward Bruneck. From there, continue in the direction of Innichen/San Candido. After about 12 km, turn left at the sign for Antholz / Staller Sattel. After another 9 km, you’ll arrive at the Pfaffinger Hof.
Herr Fox prefers the train, Madame Rabbit takes the bus — and both arrive happily. Buses and trains run regularly through the Val Pusteria. From Bruneck, you can continue by train or bus. The nearest train station is in Olang/Valdaora, just 15 minutes away by car or bus. The bus stop in the village center (next to the church) is within easy walking distance. From there, it’s a pleasant 15-minute walk to the Pfaffinger Hof.
